Scout Groups in the Launceston West Tamar District have vacancies for youth members in all sections. Anyone interested in becoming a member can contact our District Commissioner Daphne, on the above number for their nearest group, or telephone 18000 Scout.
Anyone interested in becoming a leader in the Scouting
movement? Leaders are volunteers who are provided with nationally accredited
training, to undertake activities with youth members from 6 - 26 years of age.
Potential leaders are welcome to come along and visit sections to see the type
of activities that are run. Leaders who can only attend part time are also
welcome to apply.
Anyone interested in becoming a leader must be prepared to
submit a police check and provide two independent referees. Adults who would
like to become involved as Group Leaders or Committee members (Group or
District) are also welcome to apply. Support Staff are an integral part of the
Scout movement and support by fundraising and organising events for the
District.
If you are interested in further information about groups in our District,
please phone the group representative or plan to visit the group. A phone call
prior to your visit, would ensure that the section is meeting in the hall on
that day, and a time can be set aside to give you the information you require,
to make your child's visit to Scouts a great experience!!!
