 Searching for Science Talent for over 50 years.   ABN - 97 660 939 433

      What is the TSTS?

  • The Tasmanian Science Talent Search (TSTS) is an initiative of the Science Teachers' Association of Tasmania (STAT),

  • The TSTS promotes quality science education in government and non-government schools through the recognition of outstanding work in a variety of fields.

  • The TSTS is open to all Tasmanian students from early childhood classes to grade 12.

  • We have added a 'Research Page' which includes links to articles from the STATIC magazine, previous Judge's Comments plus other relevant information regarding the Research Investigations category of TSTS.

  • We have recently added a new 'Technology Page' that has classroom ideas, project examples, and links to a  QandA section. So if you have any questions that can be included here, e-mail the Director via stsearch@bigpond.net.au .

The topic for TSTS 2010 is 'Australian Biodiversity'

Birds to bilbies, dung beetles to dugongs…. study the wide and exciting biodiversity of our country.

The Examiner Newspaper has just commenced (Tues Sept 29) a 4-part series in their Newspaper in Education feature entitled “Counting Down Nature’s Treasures” for Grades 5-10, beginning with “What is Biodiversity?” , to be followed by “Why is Biodiversity Important?” on Tues October 13.

Teachers may find these to be a valuable resource for ideas to start planning a unit for next year.
